Finances: • Iris reported that that class is in the black but not wealthy: as of this date 18 Members have paid their dues, half are from Fleet 1.
• The SailingWorld Ad was cancelled in order to curb costs. It was agreed to reinstate the one-design add.
• The Dues will remain at $100.
• John McCarthy will discuss with Layline the possibility of getting Soverel 33 hats.
• John McCarthy will explore the option of finding a different source for the Half-Hull to the Nationals Winner.
• A suggestion was made that E-mails should be sent out to those members who have not paid their dues.

Website: • Andrew Postell will be sharing the responsibility of website maintenance
• A suggestion was made that certain areas of the Soverel 33 website could be made for members only - allowing restricted access to owner contact information and class finances.

2009 Nationals Venue: • Both Charleston Raceweek and the YRALIS Championships were discussed.
• The merits of selecting a high profile regatta, such as NOOD, was discussed. Financially for the class this is a cheaper solution. (parties, trophies, RC's and Judges are already organized and paid for.)
• A suggestion was made to put up a survey on the Website to narrow down the selection of the 2009 Nationals Venue.

Class Officers: • Katie Doyle (Shaka) will assume the Class Secretary position while Iris Vogel (Deviation) will remain as Class Treasurer.
• Mike MacLeod (5:00 Somewhere) will take over the duties of the Fleet 2 Captain. see Class Officers

Rules Change / Update: Sobstad has been doing some development for the Georgia Soverel 33's. As a result, they have generated a large roach mainsail that appears to test the limits of the Class Rules (see Mainsail Dimensions.) There was some discussion as to how we wanted to handle this, the issue was tabled for the time being. We do not want to see evidence that sailmakers are attempting to gain unfair advantage by increasing mainsail widths. At the same time this may be where sail shape is headed and want to relax the Class Rules.
